“Pintxos” by martina ann

“Pintxos” by martina ann for a Spanish party.

 What Does ‘Pintxo’ Mean?
‘Pintxo’ is a ‘Basque’ take on the Spanish word ‘pincho’, which itself comes from the verb ‘pinchar’, which is ‘to pierce’. Pinchos are traditionally pierced with a cocktail stick, to attach it to the piece of bread.

Cubist Cake

A movement in modern art that emphasized the geometrical depiction of natural forms…cubism.

I was in Prague for a few days to explore the city and looking for nice cafes and cake shops. I found The Grand Cafe Orient a famous Cubist cafe very appealing. Dating from 1911 it has an interesting interior and many original features. It is on the first floor above the Cubist Museum. Inside the Museum you can see a comprehensive collection of Czech Cubism. I was very excited to see for the first time in my life a cubist cake and a copper cubist cake mold!!! beautiful….
